The 2025 RI Convention - Powerful and Transformational

The 2025 Rotary International Convention in beautiful Calgary this past week proved to be more than magical…it was powerful and transformational!

Rotary and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced a renewal of their partnership against polio. This commitment of up to $450 million over the next three years supports the critically important Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

Also, actress and activist Geena Davis, Founder of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in the Media shared how her research-based organization is reducing gender stereotyping and increasing women in media especially in children’s entertainment.

I was deeply honored to moderate Rotary’s People of Action Honors panel which celebrated the impactful, sustainable and scalable projects of service that are models for clubs around the globe. Honorees included Andre Marria, Christina Hassan, Maria Cristina Cifuentes and Swati Herkal.

I was also pleased to share in the House of Friendship the value of Rotary Clubs and Districts partnering with the Rotary-Carter School Collaboration for Peace program hosted at the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University with Peace Builder Committee Representative, Mari Clarke and Dean Alp Ozerdem.
