About the Event

How are games used to motivate?   In this talk, Dr. Scott Nicholson will explore the concepts of Gamification and Game-Based Learning, talk about how they can motivate learners, some of the risks involved, and help attendees understand when each might be the best tool to motivate people with play and games.

Scott Nicholson is a Professor of Game Design and Development at Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, Ontario and the director of the Brantford Game Network game lab (BGNlab).
