Virginia Tech SPIA in the DMV: Training Local & Global Future Public Servants

Gavin Luter is the Manager of Strategic Initiatives and Outreach at the School of Public and International Affairs. He previously served as full-time Managing Director of the Educational Partnerships for Innovation in Communities Network (EPIC-N), a global coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to connecting higher education's human capital with the needs of local governments and communities. Professionally, he is the Chair for the Place-Based Justice Network. He spent 7 years as Managing Director of the UniverCity Alliance at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where he connected local governments to campus resources. He also previously served as Executive Director of the Wisconsin Campus Compact. Gavin received his PhD from the University at Buffalo in Educational Administration, his MS from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in Higher Education Administration, and his BA in Public and Urban Affairs from Virginia Tech.
