About the Event
Gibson Zulu is a Zambian Rotary Peace Fellow whose career focused on providing protection and assistance and implementing durable solutions for refugees fleeing armed conflict in eastern DRC, Somalia, Burundi, Angola, Cote d’Ivoire, Sudan and South Sudan in Zambia, Liberia and Ethiopia respectively. His work in distinct refugee camps exposed him to the plight of protracted refugee status afflicting subsequent generations of refugees and prompted him to seek tools for sustainable conflict resolution at the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center. He's interested in the global economy, security, international humanitarian and human rights law, peace and mediation. His proximate goal is to be inducted as a Rotarian and his long-term dream encompasses strengthening the peace-building skills of civil society in fragile countries and exploring win-win political settlements to conflict as a mediator.
