Join us for a session with Richard Carson, a prominent figure in community service who will focus on
the complex issue of forced displacement, the collaborative efforts of Rotary and the OAS to mitigate this challenge, and the broader impact of such initiatives on community and international levels.
Richard, having served as the President of the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rotary Club and as a past District Governor, has played a vital role in fostering community well-being and international cooperation. Since 2007, Richard has been the Rotary Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS). His involvement has been crucial in formulating and implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Rotary Districts and the OAS. This MOU is a significant step towards tackling the challenges of forced displacement in Central America, demonstrating a commitment to humanitarian aid and regional stability.
Richard's leadership and vision have been instrumental in advancing public health and education initiatives. His entrepreneurial success in the cybersecurity sector, backed by his electrical engineering background from Cornell University, further highlight his multifaceted expertise. As the former Chairman of the Chesapeake Multi District PETS, Richard has shown a deep commitment to nurturing leadership skills.
