Satellites Clubs

Rotary Club Washington Global.png

Satellite clubs are small clubs within a larger Rotary club. With at least eight members, the satellites have a Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary. They can hold meetings at a different time than the parent club and they can also organize their own projects. The members of satellite clubs are however full members of the parent club, with all the privileges thereof, and  they can participate in activities of the parent club. Our club are interested in sponsoring satellite clubs in the United States and abroad. If you have an idea, please contact the club President through the Board page. We have sponsored one satellite club in Maryland so far.

Satellite Rotary Club of Washington Global - Montgomery County

Meeting twice a month on Sundays at 4 PM

Chair: Sahar Fahmy

Our Montgomery County satellite will formally be created in July 2020 by a group of eight dynamic women who are passionate about making a difference in other women's life, especially those in need. Although the club was started by women, men are welcome to join!   A majority of the members live in Montgomery County in Maryland, but some of the members live in other areas, including Northern Virginia. The club aims to provide creative solutions that will last, not just have a temporary impact. Members have enthusiasm and energy to help their community to come together to give hope, confidence, and peace. Recent and on-going projects include providing food to the homeless and equipment to a local hospital during the COVID-19 crisis. If you would like to become a member, please contact Sahar Fahmy through the Board page. Speakers have included local political leaders (including a Montgomery County councilman), Rotary leaders (including Rotary's District Governor), and women of exception (including for sessions on mental health and meditation).
